10 Quotables in the #iBlog10 (and Other Random Stuff)

For the second time in a row, the Philippine Health Bloggers Society have been part of the biggest blogging event in the Philippines - the iBlog: The Philippine Blogging Summit

We joined hundreds of bloggers from different niches and walks of life in a two-day free event held at the Malcolm Hall, UP College of Law, University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City. Now on its 10th year, iBlog focused on "A Decade of Blogging and Moving Forward"

PHBS Peeps sure know how to have fun!
In this photo and in no particular order: Drei, Janina, Raim, Likes and yours truly.
This year, the speakers talked about the internet in retrospect as we celebrate the 20th year of the internet here in the Philippines and how they see it in the years to come.

For the past ten years, iBlog has been true to its mission of being an avenue wherein interaction and networking among fellow bloggers would be made possible in a two-day free event.
In case you've been on the moon and missed the #iBLog10, let me share with you 10 quotes and lessons I find noteworthy for this year's iBlog.

10. "People won't link to you if they don't know you exist" ~ Jayson Bagio (@jaysonbagio)
9. "If your dreams scare you, then you're on the right track" ~ Vanj Padilla (@vanjpadilla)

2. "Behave online the way you would in real life" ~ Howie Severino (@howieseverino)
1. "Inspire and touch the world, one blog post at a time" ~ Gen Reonico (@genreonico)

Being the health blogger that I am, there's one particular topic which really caught my attention: "Why Doctors and Other Professionals Should Blog" from Dr. Bien Nillos. Here are five reasons according to @DocBIENevolent:

1. There is so much to write about the profession.
2. Blogging is educational.
3. You need therapy, too.
4. It's an extension of your clinic/practice.
5. Doctors are natural storytellers and writers.

Did I also mention that it was raining goodies and freebies in the event? Thanks to their sponsors: GMA Network, Vibal Foundation, Sky Cable, PLDT Home and Villar Foundation. Here are some of the stuff I got:

#iBlog10 Freebies: CNBC lanyard from Sky Cable;
8GB USB, lanyard and button pin from GMA Network and an iBlogX shirt!
Did I also mention that Head of GMA News Online, Mr. Howie Severino, one of the media personalities I look up to was there? He talked about the Journalism in the Age of Disruption emphasizing on how the internet has changed the way media works.

"At the end of the day", bloggers also know how to #selfWE!
