I am A Filipino Registered Nurse

"Why did I take up nursing in the first place?"

This could be one, if not the worst question a duly registered nurse in the Philippines would have to ask himself.

Given another chance, would you still take up nursing? Or would you rather choose another path?

Personally, NURSING has been my first choice back in college (Journalism ranked #2 on my list). I was never forced nor coerced by my parents or whoever Judas that is to take up the course.

I wholeheartedly choose to take up nursing.

Remembering You on Earth Day

It has been five long years since the day you bade us a permanent goodbye.

Five years has passed yet I can still visualize the entirety of your face - your chestnut colored hair, your sweet little innocent eyes, your not-so-pointed nose, and your soft lips.

I can still vividly recall how you used to call me your "Kuya Jay".

LBK-KP on Wheels Invades Bulacan

Greetings from the Local Chief Executives of Bulacan
Calumpit, Bulacan – It was one fine Thursday of March 21 when the Department of Health’s Lakbay Buhay Kalusugan – Kalusugan Pangkalahatan on Wheels visited the municipality of Calumpit in the province of Bulacan.

In line with LBK’s mission of promoting health through a fun, festive and entertaining way, the LBK Bulacan team headed by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jocelyn Gomez decorated the grounds of Northville 9, Iba O’Este with festive colored banderitas resembling that of the fiesta traditions the Philippines is well-known of.

How My Father Unfortunately Sees It

"Ang mga nurse ay katulong lang ng mga doktor."

These were the exact words my very own father told me when we talked over the phone last night.

These were also the exact words which caused me to burst in rage, anger, and fury. Sorry! It doesn't sound like I am really mad! Do I?

Honestly speaking, I didn't expect this to come out during the course of our conversation. Never did I ever anticipate this from anyone - more so from within my family.

Looking on the Brighter Side of Bad Publicity

Yeah! I know I still owe you a post regarding EDSA, but that'll come in this site sometime...  ^^

For now, here's what I got.

It has been more than over two weeks now since the whole of the Filipino people witnessed former Congresswoman Cynthia Villar, a senatorial candidate of the Liberal Party in a Senatorial Forum entitled Pagsubok ng mga Kandidato on GMANewsTV.

I need not mention about the issue and what she have responded to the questions posed by Mareng Winnie Monsod as I have a post regarding that one. You may want to click on this link just in case if you've been on the moon, and haven't read it.

Nurses and the BPO

"Sabi ko nga sa nanay ko, hindi ako magko-kol center hangga't may nakakain pa ako"

"So, ako, kailangan ko na mag-call center ulit kasi wala na akong makain?"

This has been a laughing stock among our group of friends when the thought of working in the Business Process Outsourcing industry has been brought out in the open.

Well, it's not that I have anything against working for the said industry. I will not deny the fact that this has been my bread and butter for the past one and a half year (July 2010 - January 2012).

I was then a Transition Advocate in one of the most well established and esteemed BPO company in the country. However, I had no choice but to leave the workforce for medical concerns.

Now Trending: Mrs. Cynthia Villar

I was supposed to create a blog post regarding EDSA 27, but I find that a post in relation to the derogatory remarks to the nursing profession of former Las Piñas Representative and now Liberal Party Senatorial Candidate Mrs. Cynthia Villar in the "Pagsubok ng mga Kandidato" aired last February 23 on GMA NewsTV is more timely.

Here is the video.
